Each October Melrose hosts internal events to raise money for breast cancer research.
At Melrose our mission is to “enhance the potential for the success of our customers, representatives and employees.” However, we often go beyond customers, representatives and employees and think about our community, too. This past October, as part of our Melrose community events, we raised money for our annual donation to the Blessing Hospital Breast Center. The Blessing Breast Center provides breast and bone strength services to women in the Quincy area to help detect and treat breast cancer and other women’s health issues.
Our internal fundraisers included:
Personalized Pumpkin Decorating – Employees had the chance to purchase pumpkins and have them personalized with their last name, favorite fall saying, or even Disney characters for their kids or grandkids!
Fall Employee Lunch – We hosted a special lunch for employees, who donated $5 to participate, with the proceeds going to our donation.
Employee Bake Sale – Employees brought in delicious fall treats and donated up to $5 for a plate to take home. All proceeds again went to our donation.
Raffle – We raffled off over 15 prizes to Melrose Employees including Melrose product, gift baskets, custom wreaths and more.
We are proud to report that this year’s events were our most successful fundraiser to date and that we raised $1,000! This wouldn’t have been possible without the participation of our wonderful employees. A big thank you to all who donated and participated in this year’s fundraiser!
Our check is being delivered to Blessings this month and we know it will be put to good use in the continuing effort detect breast cancer early and find a cure.
